dc.description.abstractBu çalışmanın amacı, 1960 ve 1970 yılları arasında, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'ni yurt dışında ilk kez temsil eden kadın basketbolcuların hayatlarını, basketbol deneyimlerini ve yaşadıkları zorlukları incelemek; bahsi geçen kadın basketbolcular üzerinden o dönemdeki kadın sporcuların yaşadığı zorlukları ve toplumun kadın sporculara karşı olan bakışını gözler önüne sermektir. Bu çalışma ile birlikte, belirtilen yıllar arasında, Türk Basketbolunda kadın veya erkek oyuncu olmanın bir farklılık oluşturup oluşturmadığı, eğer oluşturuyorsa, kadın oyuncuların maddi ve manevi sorunları hangi derecede yaşadıkları ve toplumun sporculara bakışının cinsiyete göre değişip-değişmediği incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada, sporun tarihi, kadının tarihi ve kadının sporda yeri ile ilgili verilen teorik bilgilerden sonra sözlü tarih yöntemiyle dönemin kadın basketbolcuları ve spor adamlarıyla yapılan görüşmeler değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca dönemin basketbol haberleri Hürriyet Gazetesi üzerinden incelenmiş ve örnekler sunulmuştur
dc.description.abstractThis master thesis aims to examine the lives of Turkish women basketball players who represented Republic of Turkey abroad for the first time between 1960's and 1970's with their experiences and difficulties they come across throughout their basketball careers and to scrutinize the challenges and difficulties the women basketball players of the era come across, the public opinion of the era by analyzing afore-mentioned Turkish Women Basketball Players. Furthermore, it examines whether it makes a differences to be a woman or man in Turkish basketball between 1960's and 1970's and in question of difference to what extend women players experienced financial and psychological problems. And lastly, this project tries to reveal whether public opinion changes towards basketball players according to their genders. In this study, after giving theoretical information on history of sports, history of women and the place of women in sports, the interviews made with the sportswoman and sportsman of 1960's and 1970's are evaluated by using oral history technique. Besides, the basketball news of the era was searched and cases were introduced through Hurriyet Daily News.
