Sözlü tarih çalışması:Derikli ermenilerde ve kürtlerde mekan ve hafıza
    (2014) Sazan, Lokman; Yumul, Arusyak
This study tries to scrutinize manners of remembering by local inhabitants of Derik and the relations between Kurds and Armenians of the town, within the context of 1915, today as we commemorate the hundredth anniversary of Armenian Genocide. The aim of the study is to make contributions to a general discussion of genocide using the incidents, experiences and testimonies related to 1915 in Derik. I also try to show by which memory channels the new generations are fed, regarding the oral interviews carried out during the study. Having the testimonies of the interviewed as the priority source, it has been found out that there is a certain number of memory places related to 1915 within people's memories. Besides, I try to underline how these memory places shape the collective memory and change people's own daily practices from time to time. As a result of the interviews it is stated that Armenians, who survived the genocide of 1915, endeavored to "normalize their life" and find new strategies to survive. Likewise it is observed that due to the oppression and fear experienced after the 1915 incidents people keep being in fear of genocide. In this study I also include the testimonies about Derik and experiences of Armenians who had to leave Derik due to Cyprus incidents and intensive conflicts. With the help of data obtained from the interviews, I focus on thoughts and perception, in general, of Kurds, and, in particular, of Derik people, related to "confrontation" and "coexistence (again)".
